Chapter 1 : The Transfer Student, Arthur???
The autumn wind was brisk, the sky clear and blue, and the air cool and comfortable. The Elegance campus was adorned with the vibrant red of swaying maple leaves, offering the most brilliant colors. Students walked in groups of three or five towards the campus.
"Did you hear? There was a big fight behind Aote Internet Cafe yesterday. Lots of blood, and they all ended up in the hospital. I heard it was Arthur Vanderbilt from First High who did it, taking on five guys by himself. He''s really something."
"Wow, that''s so cool. I really want to see what he looks like in person. He must be a tall and handsome Alpha. I like him already."
Lucas listened to the gossip with interest. "So impressive. Hey, Leonard, what do you think his Alpha rating is?"
Leonard Cavendish, with his bag slung over one shoulder, answered nonchalantly, "So curious? Why don''t you go ask him?" Then he strode ahead.
Lucas shook his head, thinking that if he really dared to ask, he might end up in the hospital too. He quickly caught up to Leonard. "Wait for me, Leonard. Let me copy your political science homework later."
Leonard replied, "No way."
In the classroom of Senior Class 1, the students were all discussing yesterday''s fight, chattering non-stop.
Leonard usually couldn''t care less about such boring gossip, but the people discussing it were close enough that some of their words slipped into his ears.
"Arthur, huh? He must be really handsome."
"Not necessarily more handsome than our school''s heartthrob. I think Leonard is definitely better looking."
"I really want to see the school bully from First High. So cool."
"But I heard Arthur started the fight, and then his family covered it up."
"Wow, a rich kid?"
"Not sure."
Hearing this, Leonard thought Arthur must be trouble. Zayne Astor, who sat in front of Leonard, was puzzled. "Arthur? Could it be Arthur? No way."
Zayne remembered that in middle school, he used to hang out with Arthur a lot, but Arthur never hit people without a reason. And Mr. Vanderbilt was very strict with him. For Arthur to go this far, those guys must have really provoked him, crossing a serious line. But since they had rarely been in touch since starting high school, maybe things had changed.
Besides, Arthur was tall, but he wasn''t exactly handsome. More like a delicate flower.
The bell rang for the first class, which was their homeroom teacher Alex''s English class. Although Alex was strict with their studies, he was usually very approachable and often mingled with the students.
Alex was never late for class, but this time, three minutes had passed and he still hadn''t shown up. The students were surprised and speculated about the reason.
Lucas turned around and said to Leonard, who was reading an English extracurricular book, "Leonard, what do you think happened? Not even a heavy rainstorm could stop Big Beauty Vanderbilt from coming to class, and it''s a sunny day outside."
But Leonard didn''t even lift his head, let alone answer his question.
Feeling a bit awkward, Lucas turned back to discuss with his deskmate, Zayne.
Although Zayne''s name sounded like a girl''s, he was definitely a boy.
After a while, they heard Alex''s voice outside the classroom, along with an unfamiliar voice that sounded a bit lazy, as if the person had just woken up.
"Introduce yourself to everyone, then focus on your studies, got it?"
"Got it, Auntie. Why are you so naggy? Didn''t you say this a million times at home?"
"Well, you better listen to me. At school, call me Ms. Vanderbilt, not Auntie."
The boy''s pleasant voice sounded again, "Got it, Auntie."
“Holy crap, Auntie??? This is Big Beauty Vanderbilt''s nephew.” The class erupted into another uproar.
Lucas was enthusiastically discussing with Zayne, listening to Zayne talk about Arthur.
Whatever Zayne was saying, Lucas kept exclaiming, “Holy crap.”
Until Alex pushed open the classroom door and cleared her throat, “What? If I don''t come, you guys won''t have class? It''s senior year, the big exam is coming, and you still have the mood to chat?”
The classroom immediately fell silent, everyone sat up straight, seriously looking at Alex, some curious ones even glanced outside the door.
“Today, we have a new classmate. I hope everyone can get along well.”
“Come in.”
Alex was still a bit worried about her nephew''s experience at his previous school, but at least now he was under her watch. Who would dare mess with Mr. Vanderbilt''s only heir? This time, she would definitely protect him.
As soon as she finished speaking, a boy with delicate features and a mischievous smile walked in, a lollipop in his mouth, exuding a bit of rebelliousness. Maybe he hadn''t received his uniform yet, he wore a plain white long-sleeve shirt and light blue jeans, carrying his backpack casually on one shoulder.
As soon as he entered, everyone exclaimed, “So cute, I want to hug him.”
“Wow, he''s so pretty.”
Alex patted the lectern, “Quiet.” Then she turned to Arthur, “Introduce yourself to everyone.”
Arthur took the lollipop out of his mouth and said lightly, “I''m Arthur.”
Immediately, a loud “Holy crap” echoed through the classroom.
It was Lucas, the unlucky guy. Zayne had just told him that Arthur wasn''t handsome but rather cute, and he didn''t believe it. How could someone who could take on five people be cute? But the truth was right in front of him. Damn, he was really cute, especially those big eyes, they were deadly. Damn, what a little devil!
Alex saw that Arthur had no intention of saying more, looked around the classroom, and noticed that the only empty seat was next to Leonard. She thought it was a good idea, Leonard was humble and polite, although he occasionally skipped class, he was a good student. At least, he could help guide her troublesome nephew.
She pointed to the seat next to Leonard, “Sit next to Leonard, in the last row.”
Sunlight poured in through the window, falling on Leonard, who looked up, his cold face softened by the light.
Without thinking, Arthur walked over and sat down.
Leonard didn''t say anything until Zayne turned around, “Arthur!”
Arthur was momentarily surprised to see Zayne, “Zayne, what a coincidence.”
Lucas also turned around, just about to say something to Arthur, but a look from Leonard made him shut his mouth.
“Save your reunion for after class, it''s class time now.”
Arthur didn''t care and said to Zayne, “Zayne, show me around after class.”
Zayne, remembering Leonard''s words, nodded silently.
Alex''s class was interesting, no one would fall asleep, except for Arthur. Everyone was keen to learn about foreign customs or interesting stories from Alex, of course, related to their studies. Elegance was an international school, always keeping up with the world.
Just when everyone was still engrossed, the bell rang. Alex told everyone to review the lesson on their own and come to her office if they had any questions. She picked up the textbook from the lectern, glanced at Arthur, who was indeed sleeping, not even giving face to his aunt, and left helplessly.
Strangely enough, as soon as the bell finished ringing, Arthur woke up, rubbing his sleepy eyes, and went to explore the campus with Zayne.
Everyone was once again discussing the tall and handsome school bully from the rumors.
"Why is Arthur so soft?"
"He doesn''t look like a school bully at all. He seems like a softie, and he even eats gummy bears."
"Look at his appearance, he looks more like an Omega than many Omegas, but he can take on five people at once, so he must be a highly differentiated Alpha."
Lucas turned his head and spoke to Leonard, "So, what do you think of the new deskmate?"
Leonard, with his rare words, said, "Noisy."
Lucas pouted, "I knew it, you never have anything nice to say. Don''t you think he''s adorable? If he were an Omega, he''d definitely charm everyone."
Leonard, tired of Lucas''s constant talk about Arthur, said, "Next class is politics. Have you finished your homework?"
Lucas suddenly remembered, "Damn, I was too busy talking about Arthur. I haven''t done it yet. I''m doomed. Brian is definitely going to lecture me for half an hour."
Turning to Leonard, he batted his eyes and said in a high-pitched voice, "Daddy, can I borrow your homework?"
Leonard, perhaps disgusted, immediately threw his homework at Lucas and told him to get lost.
Lucas said, "Thanks, Dad. Love you."
Leonard rolled his eyes. His deskmate, Arthur, cute? Maybe a bit cuter than Lucas.
